Laptop Computer Need

Greetings All,

One of our students in Kenya is in need of a laptop...they cost around $1000 US in Nairobi.

The woman in need is taking classes to finish her degree. She will be the new secretary to the Presiding Bishop Methodist Church Kenya.

She went through our Servant Leadership course last year in Kisumu.

Here is a excerpt from her email to us:

...I hope you got my school report I sent you sometimes back...  I got the results later and my overall GPA was 3.45.  I truly appreciate that you offered to sponsor me for my undergraduate and helped me realize my dream.

However, I must say i am facing the challenge of balancing between work and studies and especially in doing my assignments especially considering the office environment that is so busy.  Anyway I thank God for everything but I would like to put forward a humble request to you. - I would really appreciate if I got a laptop which would assist me in my studies and especially ease my burden of meeting deadline for assignments and homework without interfering with my office work.

Once again thank you so much for your kindness to me and for giving me an opportunity to develop my skills and knowledge for better service to human kind.

Thank you so much for your continued support.

Regards...

Desktop Computer Need

In addition, the Center For Sharing also needs a desktop computer for our new "Brother's Keeper" program here in Pasco. The BK program provides services for young men in recovery, those coming out of jail and those just not doing well.  Brother's Keeper provides safe drug free transitional housing and assists with employment opportunities and spiritual mentoring in an effort to help those in need to become self-sufficient.  Brother’s Keeper has space for up to 6  young men either in recovery or coming out of jail.

The desktop computer will cost around $500.

Would a number of you be able to join together to help us buy this computer for our program outreach? Or perhaps some of you may want to buy one by yourself, which would be awesome!
